DIY Holiday-Themed Beauty Treatments!

The holiday season is all about the gift of giving to others. But, amidst all of the dinner party preparation, holiday card sending, and dessert baking, how about treating yourself to a little gift?

From face masks to foot soaks, we have some quick and easy DIY spa treatments to pamper yourself with during this holiday season. 


1. Peppermint Foot Soak Bombs 
What You'll Need...
  • 1/4 Citric acid
  • 1/4 Epsom salt
  • 1/4 Baking soda
  • 1/4 Corn starch
  • 20 Drops of Peppermint essential oil (add more as desired)
  • 10-20 Drops Eucalyptus essential oil (add more as desired)
  •  4 Drops of food coloring (add more as desired)
  • Silicone mold 
  1. Add citric acid, epsom salt, baking soda, and corn starch together in a bowl. Stir well.
  2. Add drops of peppermint essential oil. Stir well.
  3. Add drops of eucalyptus essential oil. Stir well.
  4. Add drops of food coloring. Stir well.
  5. Stir ingredients until the mixture holds its shape when you squeeze it.
  6. Spoon and press mixture into silicone mold. (Add more mixture if needed).
  7. Refrigerate overnight before removing from mold. 
  8. Drop into warm water and enjoy!

2. Cinnamon Sugar Body Scrub
What You'll Need...
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup raw sugar
  • 1 tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup oil (sunflower, coconut, shea, etc.)
  • 10 drops of cinnamon essential oils
  1. In a bowl place sugar, raw sugar,  and cinnamon.
  2. Mix all the ingredients until the cinnamon is incorporated into the sugar.
  3. Slowly add essential oil and oil of your choice, stirring until all the mixture is covered in oil.
  4. Place in air tight container and store.

3. Cranberry and Nutmeg Christmas Face Mask
What You'll Need...
  • A cup of cranberries
  • A cup of seedless grapes
  • 1 teaspoon of plain yoghurt
  • Four tablespoons of cranberry juice
  • A dash of cinnamon
  • A dash of nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  1. Blend the berries and grapes before adding in the other ingredients one by one.
  2. Next, apply the mask to your face.
  3. Leave mask on for ten minutes before rinsing off.

4. DIY Peppermint Hand Cream
What You'll Need...
  • 2 tbsp Shea butter
  • ¼ cup Coconut oil
  • ¼ cup Beeswax granules
  • ½ tsp Vitamin E oil
  • 10 drops Peppermint essential oil
  1. Place Shea butter, Coconut oil, and Beeswax granules in a large saucepan over low heat.
  2. Stir frequently until completely melted.
  3. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Stir Essential oil (of your choice) and Vitamin E oil until well mixed. 
  5. Beat smooth. 
  6. Pour into a small jar with a lid (a 4 oz. Mason Jar works well).
  7. Allow to cool completely.
  8. Cover tightly for storage.
  9. Scoop a generous amount with your finger, rub into fingers, palms, and back of hands right up to wrists.
  10. This cream is also great for elbows and feet as well.
